There's a saying I heard about backing up digital files.

"If it doesn't exist in TWO places, it doesn't exist."

Basically, if you don't have your files stored in two places, they could disappear very quickly. This happened to my own mother who lost many important photos.

I personally have an external hard drive which I use a utility to back up to. As well, I back up a second time to DVD's. I figure one or the other should be usable after many years.

There are lots of backup methods, use the one that makes it easy for you and you'll actually do.
