Direction of the light

Direction of the light

Postby NeilS on Thu Feb 14, 2008 12:14 am

When you're outside shooting, pay attention to the direction of the light. Light from the side will reveal more detail, from directly behind you will be pretty flat, and behind the subject with create a dramatic rim light and possibly silhouette.

Each of these are usable, just make sure you think about how you use it - you might want to look for or place a subject in a slightly different direction to find the light you want.
